Beijing Nightlife · Sanlitun Bar Tour

In the last video my friend Vincent had showed us Beijing as its best especially in the oldest hutongs where all the most unexpected surprises are hidden.  

But if you know Beijing, you know this city has more than one characters. Living in Beijing in the past 5 years, the neighbourhoods where I usually hang out, are quite different from the beautiful hutongs. It is the pulse of Beijing, the economic centre, the fashion lab, young generations get together here to define themselves, to search reorganization. Vibration, original, alive, out runner, elites are the labels of this location, which is: Sanlitun.

Vincent always finds Sanlitun a bit too pretentious, too above the clouds, but what he doesn’t know is that he can find amazing food, quality cocktails and nice view of the city lights here.

Don't the light of the night, the shining CBD buildings and the big LED says I love BJ on the intercontinental hotel wall make us feel like home at some point? 

Back to business, if you come to Beijing, there are plenty of things to do but this spot you CANNOT miss! – Nali Patio.Spanish Patio means little yard, in reality, its indeed like a yard surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, local designer shops and cozy bars.

For starting the night, I choose El Barrio.  A Mexican restaurant merged with modern touch, very unique decoration inside of the restaurant, and the food is just amazing. You can start the food gently with friends or family, when it gets to 10 or 11 pm the place will be filled up by Latin tune!

People will start dancing in the restaurant, that’s what I like about this place is the concept about dancing and food, they successfully make the two together!

Okay now you had a great dinner and your body is warming up, now let’s go to the next place—La social. It’s one of the first bars who started bringing the latin heat into this area.

It’s like the pandora box, once you open the door, you will fall in love with it! The place itself is not big but the people there are just enjoying themselves, their joy and their love for salsa will make you feel like you are in Columbia on a sunny afternoon in summer!

By the way, if you pay attention to all the decorations, its all designed by my friend Alvaro himself! 

Wait, you are not a fan of Latino music? That’s fine! Because remember what I said? This place is like a pandora box! Now let’s try something different! Here we come to AURORA. In the day time it’s a restaurant but at night it turns into a bar where you will enjoy if you are a techno music lover!

It has two parts the red room and the white room, the white room is more like house sometimes African tunes but the red room often they have very good techno DJs.

Now since Vincent is getting tipsy, I think we should finish the night by bringing him to a place where you can be yourself, be crazy, be creative, be wild and dare to live—RED DOG.

The location is not exactly in Nali patio but in Sanlitun Soho, you just need to cross the street then you are there!My eyes got catched instantly by the Drag queen! The self-confidence that the crowd occupies here, the energy you feel in the place is fascinating!
