Jinan City center
Lixia District is the old town area of Jinan and the fastest developing area. Jinan's central CBD cluster, the Olympic area, and the high-tech zone are all located here. For young people, Lixia District is a place filled with opportunities and dreams. Living in Lixia District, you also enjoy high-quality public resources, and entertainment is readily available. If you enjoy lively environments, consider living near Quancheng Square shopping district, and with the Metro lines 2 & 3, transportation is very convenient. Both Lixia and Tianqiao districts have top-tier educational resources in Jinan, providing more choices for your children’s education.
Besides public infrastructure, Jinan's three major attractions—Baotu Spring, Thousand Buddha Mountain, and Daming Lake—are located in Lixia District. It’s truly a place where "lotus flowers surround you on four sides, willows on three, a city of mountain hues and half a lake". After a busy day, a stroll by Daming Lake can certainly relieve your work stress.
Quancheng Park
Shizhong District is not a typical central urban area; it covers a large area with the northern part belonging to the urban center and the southern part adjacent to the suburbs. If you have a sufficient budget and are particular about quality of life, consider living in the central area of Shizhong. Here, cultural and entertainment facilities are abundant, and Metro Line 1 crosses both Shizhong and Huaiyin districts, making commuting easy. A stroll near Shanshi East Road will immerse you in an artistic atmosphere.
After work, you can also experience a "cultural bath" in the neighboring Huaiyin District, where Shandong's provincial grand theater is located. Here, you can enjoy ballet, opera, musicals, symphonies, and theater performances.
Located in the east, Licheng District covers a vast area, surrounding Jinan from the east and south. It’s a popular choice for many white-collar workers working in Lixia District, offering proximity to the urban area with a better cost-performance ratio. The Metro Line 2 also provides quick access to the city center. For those who enjoy dining and entertainment, living near the Wenlv City shopping district is a good choice. The areas further from the city, known as Jinan's "provincial backyard," are ideal for weekend outings with family and friends to Simen Tower, the wildlife zoo, and the Yellow River Forest Park, providing a rare escape within the metropolitan area.

Further out are the suburban areas. Changqing District is named after the Qi Great Wall and clear waters within its borders, and it’s a genuine university town in Jinan. The Jinan University Science Park is also located here. Living here allows you to engage with more vibrant young people. If you are new to Jinan and on a tight budget, consider renting near Metro Line 1, though it’s less convenient than the city center, the scenic views are plentiful. Jinqian Mountain in Zhangqiu and Chengbo Lake in Jiyang are excellent choices for weekend trips.
If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, these outlying areas of Jinan are great options. Compared to the highly urbanized center, here you can enjoy a more natural and tranquil lifestyle.
