While others tower, I bloom free

As she approached her 30th birthday, Geng Xinghe left her high-paying job and moved to the countryside near Shanghai. She was determined to spend 2 million RMB to rent an abandoned yard for the sake of a century-old camphor tree.
After stepping away from the workplace for three years, her path has felt a bit out of control.
"While others grow tall like oaks, I am a wildflower, free to bloom," Geng Xinghe said. "But I really like this wild way I’m growing. My fate is in my own hands."
Fortunately, wildflowers are resilient, blossoming again with the spring breeze.

Geng Xinghe once worked in wedding planning and the overseas education industry. Because of the feature of her job, she rarely had holidays and was always on call, feeling tense both day and night.
·
After the high-pressure life of an "urban professional," she now cherishes her peaceful, healing life in the countryside. "When I was working, I hardly had time to look up at the sky. Now, I can spend my days daydreaming and enjoying the breeze in the yard," Geng Xinghe said.

As the autumn breeze blows, the yard is showered with osmanthus flowers.

When asked why she decided to spend a big chunk of money renting and fixing up a bare house in the countryside instead of saving to buy a place like most people, Geng Xinghe smiled and said, "I guess it's just a different way of thinking about money. That much would only get you an old, tiny apartment in Shanghai, but I want my child to grow up in a free and open space."

The autumn light dances, and the air is pure and bright.
To lie back isn’t to give up. Yesterday's myriad experiences have blossomed into a colorful shower of fallen petals.
